land trust focused on: the production and preservation of affordable housing and the
stewardship of community-controlled land; building values-driven community development;
building awareness and fostering community leadership on issues of housing, transportation,

community and economic opportunity for low-income residents within and beyond our project

POSITION DESCRIPTION: T.R.U.S.T. South LA is seeking a Part-Time Staff Accountant who will
play a critical role in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the
organization. This role is essential in ensuring that T.R.U.S.T. South LA’s programs are
executed smoothly, with a strong focus on financial stewardship of the organization’s $3
million annual operating budget, as well as managing relationships with multiple vendors and
stakeholders. As a compassionate, mission-driven individual, you will join the team to handle transactional accounting, financial analysis and reporting, and audit support, and the implementation of financial and compliance controls. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community and support critical social change in South LA. This role requires a diligent, proactive, and detail-oriented self-starter who will contribute significantly to the T.R.U.S.T. South LA team. You will provide crucial decision support, ensuring that financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles, policies, and regulations. The Part-Time Staff Accountant will work closely across teams and report directly to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities:
● Process checks through Bill.com
● Enter deposits and checks in quickbooks
● Prepare Bank Reconciliation Reports to be reviewed by Finance Director
● Organize Financial Files.
● Call and monitor insurance of all LLCs
● Assist in other transactional accounting tasks.
● Perform other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned, supporting organizational
initiatives, events, and campaigns.
● Assist with month end closing, year-end closing and reconciliations and preparation for
the external audit and prepare necessary audit schedules as needed
Skills/Experience/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:
● Associate degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or related field
● Proven experience in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting.
● Experience with Bill.com and QuickBooks is beneficial but not required, as training will
be provided.
● Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
● Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Familiarity with Excel and MS Word and Outlook
SALARY: The Staff Accountant is a part -time, non-exempt position. The hourly range is $25-$30
per hour for a 24-hour work week, depending on qualifications and experience. The position
may be extended based on fundraising success and available operating budget.
