Project Manager
Aishah (she/they) was raised between Tijuana, B.C. and San Ysidro, CA, an experience that shaped their dedication to repairing, restoring, and reimagining community systems. As a fronteriza, Aishah has long understood health not just as a social outcome but also as an institutional power, and sees abolition as a process of regeneration through community-led systems change. They have supported capacity-building initiatives across community-based organizations, public health departments, and philanthropic institutions to uplift grassroots efforts for health equity. Trained as a clinical social worker, Aishah also brings experience in developing therapeutic relationships in educational and carceral settings. Their interdisciplinary background in public health, social welfare, and public policy continues to inform a practice grounded in equity, and self-determination.
Currently, Aishah serves as a project manager for T.R.U.S.T. South LA’s community development initiatives, leading efforts to acquire, rehabilitate, and develop properties that preserve and expand permanently affordable dignified housing within our Community Land Trust in South Central. They help advance a social housing model grounded in shared ownership, collective governance, and long-term affordability, by strengthening the technical infrastructure needed to support resident-led conversions and inform advocacy for community ownership. Aishah remains committed to building the conditions for community self-determination and stewardship.
