TRUST South L.A. is thrilled to announce the community stewardship and stabilization of a multifamily building in the heavily gentrified Pico-Union neighborhood, just a few blocks away from L.A. Live and U.S.C. The building has housed the residents for a quarter of a century. Thanks to Supervisor Hilda Solis vision, leadership, and trust in the L.A. County CLT Program, the residents will now benefit from a shared equity model that will keep the building affordable in perpetuity.
Thanks to the Los Angeles County Development Authority that administered the CLT Pilot program, we are helping our community have quality, stable housing and self-determination. Thank you, Supervisor Hilda Solis, Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, Supervisor Janice Hahn, and Supervisor Kathryn Barger, for championing this fantastic pilot program.
The acquisition of Reclamar la Tierra could not have been possible without the collective work between our allies Fideicomiso Comunitario Tierra Libre, Liberty Community Land Trust, The El Sereno Community Land Trust, and Beverly Vermont Community Land Trust.
