Happening now at T.R.U.S.T. South L.A.!
T.R.U.S.T. South L.A. joined Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson and our friends in South L.A. Cafe to discuss rolling out the "L.A. Al Fresco" phase 2 program that finally includes street vendors.  The "L.A. Al Fresco" program helps support restaurants and street vendors by offering temporary permits for outdoor dining on sidewalks, private parking lots and streets.  Learn more at https://corona-virus.la/laalfresco
Slauson and Wall Project Development
Our board member and community leader Ms. Maritza Lopez has been a resident of the Slauson Corridor for over 40 years. Ms. Lopez has advocated for 10+ years for a community-oriented development at the Slauson & Wall site. She joined us for a visit with the potential developers of this site, and shared some words of hope.

“My neighbors and I have been waiting for many years to see this project finalized. My community needs affordable community controlled-homes.
But we also have the illusion to have a nice park for us to come together, bring our children and get  to know each other because there is no common space to socialize & build community. In my 40 years here, we have gone through many ups and downs, but we don’t lose hope and want to see our vision become a reality.”

Stay tuned about the advocacy efforts of TRUST South L.A for a community rooted development at Slauson & Wall.
